Morgan concedes England found it tough

Mar 04 -- England's ODI captain Eoin Morgan insists his team were pushed all the way by West Indies during their win on Friday in Antigua.

The tourists were hoping to lay down a marker but their performance flattered to deceive although they did enough to secure a 45-run win.

Rain delayed the start of play but Morgan did not look out of form as he scored his 10th ODI ton. England clicked late on in their innings, with Sam Billings (52) and Ben Stokes (55) both grabbing half-centuries.

England eventually posted a score of 296-6 but Morgan admits that the conditions did not help them during the victory.

He told Sky Sports: "I don't think it's easy or pretty (here). Any of the batsmen who scored runs took a lot more time than they normally do to get themselves in.

"Having been out there for the last 10 overs of our innings and knowing how hard it was to clear the ropes and gain momentum to have a big over of 18 or 20, I think we were ahead of the game through most of it. But certainly they pushed us."
